Gustavus Conservatives are Organizing Alumni for Impact

Editor's Note: The most successful student groups leverage alumni’s (monetary) influence. If you can identify and inform conservative donors of bias on your campus, you can persuade them to cease contributions to the university -- and significantly pressure the administration to change its policies. Learn how to tap into your alumni network, and see how one conservative group is putting the steps into action below.

Friends of Gustavus, a group dubbed as an alumni association for conservative graduates of Gustavus Adolphus College, announced it is planning an official launch during the college's homecoming festivities on Saturday, September 25, 2010.

According to their website hosted by CampusReform.org, "the purpose of the Friends of Gustavus Network is to inform, connect, and activate conservative graduates of the college in order to build and sustain a tradition of conservatism amongst students and alumni."

The executive director of the group, Phil Cleary, said one of their main goals is to "connect current students with past students for the purpose of mentorship, networking, and development."

The group’s primary vehicles of outreach will be through CampusReform.Org, supported by influential leaders in the college’s administration and networking sites like Facebook and Linkedin.

Cleary believes that Friends of Gustavus will "have the strength necessary to combat leftist abuses on campus."

You can join the group today by going to http://bit.ly/joinGAC and filling out the group's official membership form.
